Journey Across Madrid, New York, Berlin and Beyond
Maria’s dance odyssey commenced under the mentorship of illustrious instructors Julia Estevez, Luis Fuentes and Jose Granero in Madrid. Her unwavering dedication and extraordinary talents were honored with a prestigious Fulbright scholarship, propelling her to the esteemed School of American Ballet in New York City, founded by the iconic George Balanchine.
Maria’s trajectory started with the National Ballet of Spain in Madrid at the tender age of 15, later moving to Germany as a soloist with the Berlin Ballet.
Her pursuit of artistic excellence led her to the revered “Centro de Arte Flamenco Amor de Dios” in her hometown, Madrid, where she immersed herself in the art of flamenco under the guidance of the finest in the field.

Maria’s dance repertoire is a vibrant mosaic of versatility and artistry. Her proficiency extends beyond classical ballet, contemporary and flamenco, seamlessly integrating her practise as a dancer, choreography, teacher, producer, mentor and community catalyst through her role as artistic director of Atlantic Flamenco Productions Society in Halifax, Canada. This expansive range empowers her to artfully weave techniques and styles, creating performances that transcend traditional boundaries.

- Maria has created, produced and toured over 20 shows with her company: Maria Osende Flamenco Company.
- She is the artistic director of Atlantic Flamenco – a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of flamenco and Spanish culture in Atlantic Canada and producers of the ATLANTIC FLAMENO FESTIVAL, the FLAMENCO NIGHTS and the SEVILLE APRIL FAIR IN HALIFAX.
- In 2017 and 2019 she produced the FUSE dance festival -a large-scale multicultural dance festival in partnership with the Halifax Regional Municipality
