BASICS – Entry Level

Developing fundamentals – Understanding posture, muscle groups used, learning arm and feet positions, basic steps and terminology, developing strength. Concepts covered:

6-10 weeks minimum @ 1 hour/week

BEGINNER LEVEL 1

Developing the barre and some centre exercises: fondu, glissade, pas de vals, principles of turning, glissades, galops. Building strength and flexibility.

6-12months minimum @ 1.15 hour/week

BEGINNER LEVEL 2

All the above plus additional barre and centre exercises such as:single pirouettes, assemble, temps levés,fondu, rond de jambe, jeté, port de bras. Understanding Alignments (épaulements)

PROGRESSIVE 3

Ability to retain short combinations, introduction of new pirouettes,such as pique turns and jumps. Faster and more complex execution and combinations. Longer combinations.

INTERMEDIATE 1

Full barre, various types of pirouettes (singles and doubles), varioustypes of small and big jumps, extended adage combinations.
