Join us this summer for a focused month of ballet training. Our summer series runs from August 3 to September 1 and offers four levels designed to help students continue progressing while keeping the schedule simple.

Approximately 10–24+ months of ballet training. Students who attended Beginner 2 on Sundays with Marel and Beginner 1 on Tuesdays with Maria.
Progressive / Open Level + Variations

Our Ballet Classes by Level

Absolute Beginner – Ballet Basics – Entry Level

Developing fundamentals: understanding posture, muscle groups, learning arm and feet positions, basic steps, and terminology. This level is specifically designed to welcome individuals of all abilities and fitness levels who have always dreamed of stepping into the world of ballet. Embrace the joy of ballet in a diverse and welcoming environment where you’re free to express yourself. Our course is open to everyone, regardless of gender, age, or fitness level. Duration: 6–10 weeks minimum @ 1 hour/week Concepts covered:Posture and Turnout: Covering correct posture and building a strong foundation is crucial for developing ballet technique. Dedicated attention is given to each student’s understanding of posture and muscle engagement. • Barre: Demi-plié, rises, tendu, tendu jeté, ronds de jambe, relevé sousous, retiré, fondu, grand battement, arabesque, and body bends. • Centre: Sautés, échappés, rise and hops for temps levé. • Across the Floor: Gallops, chassé, triplets, big jumps, and ballet runs. Beginner Ballet Level 1

Developing muscle memory, expanding the barre, and adding more center exercises while building strength and flexibility. Duration: 6–12 months minimum @ 1.15 hour/week • Barre: Grand plié, tendu, jeté, ronds de jambe, fondu, pirouette prep, piqué arabesque, relevé, sousous, soutenu turns. • Centre Practice: Tendu, little adagio, sautés, balance in relevé. • Across the Floor: Triplets, temps levé, glissades, ballet runs with reverence.

Beginner Ballet Level 2

All the above plus additional barre and center exercises such as single pirouettes, assemblé, temps levé, fondu, rond de jambe, jeté, and port de bras. Understanding alignments (épaulements) is also introduced. This level dedicates more time to center work and is beneficial for advanced students wishing to review and focus on technique. Duration: 2–4 years @ 1.15 hour/week

Progressive Ballet Level

This level is ideal for a mixed group of students with approximately four or more years of experience, typically attending once a week or with equivalent experience. It’s a great choice for those returning to ballet after a long break or for recreational dancers who have practiced ballet for years and want to take their weekly class. Each 90-minute class includes a complete barre and center practice. The curriculum is designed to strengthen and refine technique through simple combinations that gradually increase in complexity as the group progresses. New steps and variations on familiar steps will be introduced at a comfortable pace, ensuring all participants advance together. • Full Barre: Includes frappés. • Centre Practice: Waltzes, various pas de bourrées, assemblés (front and back), various sissonnes, failli assemblé, jetés, temps levé, épaulements, piqué turns, and pirouettes (en dedans and en dehors). Intermediate Level

Requires approximately 7 years of ballet training or equivalent. Dancers at this level have a solid foundation in classical ballet technique, encompassing body placement, alignment, and movement dynamics. Full barre, various types of pirouettes (singles and doubles), small and big jumps, extended adage combinations. Duration: 1.5 hours/week or more

Open Level Ballet

A blended class for progressive and intermediate dancers. Offers a range of barre and center work, with optional modifications in tempo and complexity to suit different skill levels. Perfect for those seeking flexibility, challenge, or a supportive return to ballet.
